Vaquer won at Korakuen Hall, Sunday.

New NJPW Strong Women’s Champion crowned.

Stephanie Vaquer, CMLL’s Stephanie Vaquer, defeated Giulia in Sunday’s Stardom at Korakuen Hall. She pinned the former champion using a roll-up. Giulia has now lost the title after 243 consecutive days. She had previously defeated the first-ever champion Willow Nightingale in NJPW Strong Independence Day on July 5, last year.

The title change coincides with the end of Giulia’s tenure at Stardom. Tokyo Sports reported in November that Giulia’s Stardom contract would not be renewed when it expires this month. She will instead be a part of Stardom founder Rossy’s new promotional campaign before eventually heading to WWE.

Vaquer began wrestling for CMLL as of 2019. She is currently the Women’s Tag Team champion with Zeuxis and the CMLL Women’s Championship. She made her debut in April at the NJPW Strong’s Resurrection event, where she was crowned the first-ever Strong Women’s champion, but lost to Mercedes Mone on the opening round. On November 10, she failed to challenge Mayu Iwatani in the IWGP Women’s Championship at Lone Star Shootout.
