Steve Maclin wants to stay in the promotion even though his TNA contract is about to expire.
Last month, Fightful reported that Maclin’s TNA Wrestling contract is due to expire in May. Maclin confirmed this report in an interview with WrestleZone and said that he would like to stay at TNA. Maclin told WrestleZone that he has informed TNA management of his enjoyment at the company.
Maclin said that his decision on a contract will be based on what is best for him and his wife:
I know that my contract with TNA will end in May. I would love to stay. I told management that I love my time at the company. It’s one of those situations where it comes down to what’s best both for me and my wife.
Currently, I am focusing more or less just on this Friday in Windsor. One match at a tim. But I also know that I need to prove myself before they will offer me to stay. That’s all on me.
Maclin lost Friday night to Nic Nemeth, the former Dolph Ziggler, at TNA’s Sacrifice event held in Windsor.
Maclin was the Impact World Champion for two months in 2023.
Maclin, who is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, wrestled with WWE until 2021, when he was released. Steve Cutler was his ring name on both the main roster and NXT. He was a part of The Forgotten Sons along with Jax Ryker and Wesley Blake.
Maclin is married AEW wrestler Deonna purrazzo.
