Wheatley Vodka is named the ‘Official Vodka’ of WWE WrestMania 40 in todays Wrestling news
It’s the very first spirit deal in WWE history.
WWE has signed a new sponsorship agreement ahead of WrestleMania.
Sports Business Journal reported that WWE has “signed what is believed to be the first spirits sponsorship in company history” with Wheatley Vodka. Wheatley Vodka will be the “Official Spirit of WrestleMania 40” as part of the deal.
Wheatley will sponsor a few other WWE events.
“Until now, WWE did not generally do long-term official sponsor’ designations as most brands were seeking deals for specific time periods. Sports Business Journal reported that this is changing under TKO. This new deal includes live event brand integrations both nights of WrestleMania, inclusion in the Kickoff Show and social/digital media implementations.
WrestleMania forty will take place in Philadelphia on Saturday, 6 April and Sunday, 7 April.
Wheatley will also be the sponsor of a six-part digital and social media series that WWE will release in the near future. Cody Rhodes will be interviewing other WWE wrestlers in the series. Sports Business Journal reported that “a Wheatley-branded tour bus” will be featured in the series.
No further details have been released about this series.
Grant Norris Jones, EVP/head global partnerships at TKO, said that WWE is searching for an official beer sponsorship:
TKO’s strategy is to expand into new categories and sign larger, broader agreements. We’re searching hard for an official partner [for WWE].
Sports Business Journal reports that Mike’s Hard Lemonade is returning as a SummerSlam sponsor this year.
TKO is the parent of WWE and UFC. It was formed in September last year when Endeavor’s purchase of WWE became official.
