Netflix will air a boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul in July. The fight is a battle that defies all logic based on the two combatants.
The live event will be held on Saturday, 20th July at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas. Netflix will premiere its first boxing/MMA program after Paul’s company inked a deal with Netflix in November.
Tyson, 58, hasn’t fought since a November 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. that generated more than 1 million pay per view purchases. This fight was 15 years since his last.
Tyson has dabbled in pro wrestling for the past few years. He last appeared in 2022 with AEW. In a 2023 interview, he said that he preferred to be with WWE despite the fact that AEW paid more.
The 27-year old Paul (9-1) was a YouTube star who turned to boxing. He made his name by beating former MMA stars like Anderson Silva, Ben Askren, and Tyrone Woodley.
At this point, there is no way to know if it will be a pro-fight or an exhibition fight, the number of rounds, glove sizes, etc. The amount of money each fighter will receive is also unknown.
The live event will take place more than five months after WWE launches their own live programming in January, with Raw in the U.S.A. and all WWE content worldwide.
