Sting & Darby Allin

Sting was asked why he wanted to join AEW. He said he saw a chance and liked the female and male wrestlers. He felt that AEW was a better fit for him than his time in WWE or TNA.

Sting replied that he hasn’t worked out anything with Tony Khan yet, but they will have to discuss it in the near future. He ruled out being a manager or road agent/producer.

He was asked to reflect on his split with Jim Hellwig, the Ultimate Warrior, after their tenure as The Bladerunners ended in the UWF. Sting said it was for their own good, as they were both “roided-out” and ready to kill one another. Sting said that he stopped using steroids in 1990.

Sting replied that his match could not have gone better when asked how difficult it was to leave. He praised his sons for wearing his surfer and Wolfpac gear.

Sting said that he just got out of a meeting where he told the Young Bucks that Sunday’s match had been among the top three matches of his career and it could not have gone better.

He joked that if everything went well, he might be able to make it back to Wembley Stadium, but then said that there was no way he would ever get there again.

Tony Khan

He called Sunday’s show a “perfect evening”, and said that it was one of the most successful shows AEW had ever produced. Also said that it was likely one of the best gates AEW has ever had, but did not give specific numbers.

Khan said Sting is a very generous person and not political. He never pushed for an undefeated race but he felt strongly about pushing him in the way that he pushed.

Khan explained that the NFL schedule dictated Saturday and Sunday pay-per view shows. He said more shows would be held on Saturday because of NFL games.

Denise Salcedo posed a question regarding the AEW Tag Team Titles. Khan announced that the titles will be vacated, and a tournament is set to begin this month. Darby Allin will also face Jay White at AEW’s Big Business.

Khan called Sting one of the most selfless people in pro-wrestling.

Khan is optimistic about Kenny Omega’s return but said it would be unfair to expect him to appear at AEW events in Winnipeg.

Khan avoided a question about Kyle O’Reilly’s condition, instead focusing on the momentum he enjoyed before sustaining an injury.

Khan stated that he “absolutely planned” to have Eddie Kingston at ROH Supercard Of Honor.

One person asked if negotiations for AEW TV rights were in progress, and if there were other companies besides Warner Bros. Discovery was interested. Khan replied that they were still under an exclusivity agreement with WBD, and they were very proud of the work they do with

TBS and TNT. He said the current management group at WBD has embraced TBS and TNT more than ever.

Khan said that he would like to have Stephanie Vaquer in AEW and that their agreement with CMLL will allow women talent in.
