Shortly after Massaro’s death, an investigation into her allegations was launched.
The investigation into the allegations of sexual assault by Ashley Massaro has been detailed.
After her death in 2019, Konstantine Kyros released an affidavit by Massaro that included allegations she had been drugged and assaulted during a WWE tour to Kuwait by someone claiming they were a US Army Doctor. WWE denied knowing about Massaro’s allegations, which a lawyer for John Laurinaitis refuted.
In June 2019, the United States Naval Criminal Service began an investigation into these allegations. The investigation was closed on January 27, 20. It was determined that they had exhausted all leads and were unable to determine the location of the alleged crime.

The incident involved the deceased civilian World Wrestling Entertainment(WWE) celebrity Ashley MASSARO. In an affidavit she signed before her death in connection with her lawsuit against WWE, MASSARO claimed she was “raped” or “sodomized”, while on a USO Tour to Kuwait in “2007”, by an individual whom she believed was an active duty military doctor, while an unknown woman stood guard. AFOSI, US Army Criminal Investigation Division and NCIS conducted initial investigations into the allegations. A physician who attended MASSARO was interviewed. A failed attempt was made to locate the alleged crime site. All logical investigative lead have been exhausted. No subject, scene or witnesses have yet been identified. The victim has been reported as deceased and there is no prosecutorial venue within the NCISRU Corpus Christi (TX) area of responsibility. This case has been closed.
NCIS was unable to locate the exact location where Massaro received treatment. Records indicate that he was treated at Camp Life Support Area, Kuwait.
Massaro’s affidavit states that the assault occurred in 2007, but records in the case indicate it happened in 2006.
In 2019, the NCIS interviewed the physician’s assistant that attended to Massaro in 2006. The assistant, who has been redacted from his name, said Massaro had complained of abdominal and pelvic discomfort. Massaro came in with a man “who seemed to be acting strange and skittish.” The man was said to be well-built, and may have had a moustache.
The assistant also noted Massaro seemed drowsy at first, but “she wasn’t falling asleep or slurring words during conversation.” He also noted that another person in the facility had said that Massaro might have been high. The assistant said that he did not know because he had little experience with people who were on drugs or drinking alcohol.
According to the assistant Massaro consented to a pelvic examination that was conducted in the presence of a female Corpsman. Massaro remained lucid during the entire procedure. The assistant also noted someone banging on the door while Massaro was being attended to, which is consistent to Massaro’s claims in her affidavit. Massaro had to stop the exam briefly so she could confirm that everything was okay.
The assistant said that Massaro didn’t seem upset or cry, and that he saw nothing that would lead him to believe that she had been sexually abused. He also said he didn’t see Massaro leaving the facility.
The NCIS tried to speak with the Officer In Charge of the clinic that Massaro was being treated at. The person refused to be interviewed.
