WWE announces two live events for July in Mexico in todays Wrestling news
Mexico City and Monterrey have announced shows.
WWE will be returning to Mexico in the summer of 2018.
WWE announced on Monday that they will be returning to Mexico City’s Arena CDMX for a show on Saturday, 13th July. The promotion will present a show at the Arena Monterrey the following night, Sunday July 14.
WWE advertises that these shows will be “the only WWE Live events in Mexico in 2024.”
The WWE is returning to the country for the first time since two shows in 2017 drew a capacity crowd.
WWE’s live event held in Mexico City on July 22, last summer, attracted a crowd of more than 15,000. Roman Reigns defended the WWE Universal Championship in front of Rey Mysterio. The show also featured Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and Cody Rhodes against Damian Priest. Ronda Rousey faced Shayna Basszler.
WWE’s trip last year to Monterrey was also a success, attracting a crowd of 9500 people for a show that featured Seth Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Dominik mysterio. The LWO vs. Imperium; Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley and Natalya; Matt Riddle vs. The Miz was also featured on the show.
