Rhodes wants to face The Rock in a one-on-one match.
Cody Rhodes issued a challenge for The Rock to WrestleMania forty.
On Saturday, Rhodes and Seth Rollins were seen together on The Grayson Waller Effect during the Elimination Chamber. Rhodes declared he wanted to face The Rock in a one-on-one match. Rollins said that he admires Rhodes for his challenge, but The Bloodline is not a one-on-one match. Rollins has promised to have Rhodes’s back.
Rhodes: Rock you did indeed slap me across the face. At WrestleMania, I will be wrestling Roman Reigns as the main event. I am open to anything until then. Let’s make it official, Rock, I would like to wrestle you anytime, anywhere.
Rollins: What say you, Perth? I think it’s about time we cut off the head of the snake. Cody, your challenge to The Rock is admirable. You know, everyone knows that there is no one-on-one when it comes The Bloodline. If and when The Rock takes you up on this challenge, you’ll never be fighting alone.
The Rock was not at Elimination chamber. He will be on SmackDown Friday, March 1, to answer the challenge. This will be Rock’s debut since he officially joined The Bloodline last Monday. Rock called him and Roman Reigns “the most dominant duo” in sports and entertainment.
Grayson Waller was watching as Rhodes and Rollins presented Austin Theory at the end of their appearance on The Grayson Waller Effect.
Rollins said that he is “just days away” before he can return to the ring. Rollins suffered an MCL tear and a partially torn Meniscus when he faced Jinder Mahal last month on Raw.
The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Reigns and Rhodes has been officially announced for WrestleMania. Rollins will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship.
WrestleMania is a two night event that takes place on Saturday, 6 April and Sunday, 7 April.
