Randy Orton’s reaction to Vince McMahon’s allegations: “It hurts me my heart” in todays Wrestling news
The New York Post, Sports Illustrated and The New York Post interviewed Orton.
Randy Orton is battling the allegations made against Vince McMahon.
In an interview published by the New York Post on Wednesday, Orton answered a question about his reaction to a lawsuit that former WWE employee Janel grant filed against McMahon and WWE. The lawsuit accuses McMahon and WWE of sexual assault, physical and emotional abuse and sex slavery.
Orton told The Post he doesn’t believe the allegations, because McMahon did so much for him. However, he also understands that McMahon may have done these positive things and made other terrible mistakes.
I don’t believe the horrible things I’ve read online because this man has done so much for me. If it wasn’t him, I would not have been given second or third chances [in WWE]. I wouldn’t be where I am now if that man hadn’t been there.
I can’t believe it. But then, another part of me realizes that he was human and made some terrible mistakes. He could have done so much for me and my business. He could have created something amazing that will continue long after he is gone.
Orton said that he believes more information is needed before he or any other WWE talent can speak about the situation.
Every story has three sides. The truth, their side and the other side. I think I need to know more before I can speak about any of this. I think this would be true for any talent you ask about, but I know Vince McMahon personally. I owe him a lot for all he has done for me over the past 24 years.
I say this with conviction, because I [wouldn’t] be in the position I am without his help. If these allegations are true then that’s some awful s-t. I’m torn. It’s hard.
Orton made similar comments in an article published today by Sports Illustrated.
I have to say that I wouldn’t be here without Vince McMahon having taken a few chances on me. I wouldn’t be where I am without Vince McMahon. But, f —, i’m reading that sh-t. I’ve read and seen what you’ve read and seen. It hurts my heart to comment on that. It hurts my soul.
McMahon resigned after the lawsuit, having vowed to vigorously fend off Grant’s accusations.
Orton will compete in the Elimination chamber match for men this Saturday at Elimination Chamber. The winner will face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania for the World Heavyweight Championship.
