WWE will launch new programming exclusively on X in Spring 2024.
In Spring 2024, a new weekly WWE show will debut on the social media platform X.
WWE announced at the WrestleMania Kickoff event on Thursday that WWE Speed would be streaming exclusively on X in Spring.
Michael Cole, a commentator, explained the Speed concept, which is a match lasting five minutes or less. He also noted that the property was exclusive to X, formerly Twitter.
The Hollywood Reporter provided some additional details about the deal. It noted that the series would stream 52 weeks per year and feature talent across all of WWE’s brands.
The financial terms of the deal have not been revealed.
WWE filed a trademark application for WWE Speed on 18 December 2023. It also recorded matches for the series during the December 15, 2023 SmackDown.
The WWE Speed was explained as follows at the SmackDown event:
Matches are limited to five minutes. The winner receives one point, while the loser gets docked one. If the bout ends in a draw due to the time limit, no points are given. During the match, a five-minute countdown appears on the video screen.
The first two matches were Axiom against Cedric Alexander and Bronson Reed against Nathan Frazer.
