Mercedes Mone to debut at AEW Big business in Boston in todays Wrestling news
AEW Dynamite Big Business will be at TD Garden on 13th March.
Tony Khan announced a special Big Business Episode of Dynamite For Boston, which is expected to feature Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut.
Khan promised a “big announcement” on Dynamite this week and delivered a tease similar to First Dance of Mone. Khan said Big Business would be a night that the wrestling community would remember. The show will take place on Wednesday, March 13, at Boston’s TD Garden.
In the Big Business graphic that was shown on air, the Garden has a “Bo$$ton”, which is likely a reference Mone’s WWE moniker “Legit Boss”.
The Big Business tease is similar in tact to when AEW debuted CM Punk during Rampage The First Dance, August 2021. Punk wasn’t mentioned by name but his debut was expected.
In a report published Wednesday night by Fightful Select, it is stated that Mone has been under contract with AEW since at least the last month. NJPW has also discussed with the promotion that they hope to continue working together with Mone, even if she joins AEW.
Mone left WWE on May 20, 2022. She walked out of a Raw tape due to creative differences, and gave up the Women’s Tag Team title she held with Naomi.
Mone made her NJPW debut at Wrestle King 17 on January 4, 2023. She won the IWGP Women’s Championship in February 2023 from KAIRI in her NJPW in ring debut.
Mone, who had lost the IWGP title at Stardom All-Star Grand Queendom to Mayu Iwatani in April 2023 entered a one-night tourney to crown the first NJPW Strong Women’s champion at Resurgence in May 20,23. She was planning to win the title but suffered an ankle-injury in the final of the tournament against Willow Nightingale. Mone called a ring audible and put Nightingale down. She has been sidelined ever since because of the injury.
Tickets for Big Business at TD Garden Boston will be on sale starting Saturday, February 10.
