Satoshi Kojima, MLW Heavyweight World Champion for the second time in twenty years.
The NJPW star defeated Alex Kane, the main opponent of MLW SuperFight in Philadelphia on Saturday. He pinned him after two lariats. Kojima became the first MLW World heavyweight champion to win twice. Kane had previously won the title on July 8, last year, when he defeated Alex Hammerstone at Never Say Never.
Kojima thanked everyone for their support and said that he had achieved glory again after twenty years. He concluded by telling everyone to eat bread and drink beer.
Kojima was celebrating with Yuji Nagata and OKUMURA as he left the building. The latter poured beer on Kojima to celebrate.
Kojima won the MLW World Heavyweight championship on September 26, 2002. He defeated Jerry Lynn and won the vacant title. Mike Awesome would eventually win it back on June 20,2003.
The match between Minoru Kojima and Satoshi Kojima has been announced for MLW Intimidation games on February 29.
