Jade Cargill – Bianca Belair and I will’make magic in WWE’ in todays Wrestling news
Denise Salcedo caught the WWE star after she made her debut in the ring.
The WWE women’s Royal Rumble match on Saturday featured many surprises, including the return Naomi, the surprise debut of TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne, and Jade Cargill’s official WWE debut in the ring.
The inaugural AEW TBS Champion began at number 28 and lasted a total time of 11 minutes and 3 seconds. She was one of the final three competitors. Her memorable moments in the Rumble include eliminating Nia Jax and Naomi (with help from Naomi).
After the Rumble, Cargill walked the red carpet with her husband, former MLB player Brandon Phillips.
You can watch me interview Cargill at the event above. Here are some highlights.
Making her WWE in-ring debut
WWE announced in September that Cargill signed a multiyear contract. She began appearing backstage on multiple shows, including WWE Fastlane and Raw, SmackDown, and even NXT, all without making her actual debut in the ring.
The Rumble moment occurred.
“…I felt ecstatic. The locker room was filled with nothing but love. “I was a bit nervous, but as soon as I heard the WWE Universe, it made me feel like I was unstoppable.”
Cargill, as mentioned above, eliminated Jax in a moment that she called “something big” for her division.
“I think Nia is one of the most powerful women in the locker rooms.” “I felt like I did something big when I went out and defeated her.”
Cargill had many confrontations with Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and other WWE stars during her first TV appearances. We had not seen her face-to-face with Bianca Belair before the Royal Rumble, when both women were across the ring.
“We’re going to see what happens.” I would prefer to work with Bianca Belair. I think she’s phenomenal. I think she’s a great representation for the African American Community and we’re going to make magic whether we work together or against each other. We’re going to make magic.”
Cargill has yet to officially join a brand, despite the fact that she appeared on SmackDown last Friday and met Nick Aldis.
How AEW prepared her to join WWE
Cargill worked for AEW between 2020 and the fall of 2023, before signing with WWE.
During her time there, she was crowned the first and longest-running AEW TBS champion with a winning streak that lasted for 508 days.
“I felt that I would never have gotten a more successful start than AEW. This is me being completely honest. I think the veterans who were in the locker room helped me prepare for the bigger stage at WWE. I had a great time there. Being thrown into the water and knowing how to swim and survive helped me prepare for the WWE stage. The locker room and the incredible staff at WWE, I mean, they have a front desk like no other. I am excited to be here.”
