The federal prosecutors have spoken to several of his accusers.

Vince McMahon was served a federal search warrant and a subpoena in July of last year as part of a continuing investigation into allegations of sexual assault and sex-trafficking against the now former TKO chairman.

The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the case, broke the story first on Friday, providing the first insight into why the warrant was issued and what happened behind the scenes.

The WSJ reported in recent months that federal prosecutors in New York were in contact with women who have accused McMahon sexual misconduct. They were looking for any communication between them and the former WWE Chairman.

According to the report at least five of the women named in the subpoena including Grant had settlement agreements with McMahon, with some having been interviewed by prosecutors.

The other women named include a WWE contract who McMahon is alleged to have sexually harassed and sent her unsolicited nude pictures; a former WWE wrestler Rita Chatterton who publicly accused McMahon for raping; a spa manager that McMahon assaulted at a Southern California resort and a former WWE worker who claims John Laurinaitis demoted her because she ended an affair with him.

According to the report federal agents were looking for documentation related to any allegation relating to “rape or sex trafficking or sexual assault, commercial sex transactions, harassment or discrimination against current or former WWE staff.”

The investigation began in 2022, when the first reports about the allegations were published by the WSJ.

McMahon denied the allegations made in the late January lawsuit filed by Janel Grant, an ex-employee with whom McMahon had signed a hush-money pact. He said in a press release that he would fight the lawsuit “vigorously.”

Grant wants the NDA that she signed with McMahon annulled, as well as unspecified financial damage after McMahon only paid $1 million out of the $3 million settlement they agreed upon.

McMahon quit as TKO’s executive chairman the day after the news of the lawsuit broke on Thursday.

WWE/TKO is yet to publicly comment on this latest report, while McMahon referred back to his previous denial to the WSJ.
