Jim Ross undergoes cancer treatment in todays Wrestling news
The Hall of Fame announcer had surgery on Thursday.
Hall of Fame wrestler Jim Ross announced on Thursday that he had surgery to remove cancer from his right hip.
Ross revealed in a post on social media on Thursday night that he underwent surgery on his hip right on Thursday morning.
I had cancer surgery on my right hip this morning. All went well. Thank you for your love and support!
Ross announced in October of 2021 that he was diagnosed with skin cancer. He then underwent more than twenty radiation treatments. Ross announced in December 2021 that he had been cancer-free. However, he is still undergoing wound care as a result.
Ross is a member of both the Wrestling Observer newsletter Hall of Fame and WWE Hall of Fame. He is currently under contract with AEW. Ross stated in his podcast last month, that his AEW contract expires on 14 February. He hopes to extend his contract and “finish” his wrestling career within the company.
Ross turned 72 years old last month. He signed a three-year deal with AEW in April 2019 before the first show. He announced that he had extended his contract by about 18 months in May 2022.
