Shawn Michaels media call: Vince McMahon’s fallout and addressing allegations in todays Wrestling news
The NXT leader had to answer some tough questions on Thursday.
Shawn Michaels, who called Thursday’s media call his toughest yet, answered questions about the safety of those working at the WWE Performance Center following the Vince McMahon suit and addressed past allegations about himself.

Michaels denied the allegations made by Brutus Beefcake about Marty Jannetty and him in the past. Beefcake had also retracted those remarks. Michaels said that he made mistakes in the past but never did anything against consent. He added that those who engage in such behavior usually have issues with women and power.
Michaels was repeatedly asked about the safety protocols at the Performance Center/NXT. He reiterated their efforts to foster an environment that is open and welcoming of talent.
Michaels responded that everyone knows about the McMahon case. Michaels takes his work with young talent in all aspects of business seriously and wants them to be honest. He said that everyone is excited for the future, despite the current situation. “The windows have been opened and everyone is ready” to move forward.
He couldn’t remember what policies were updated in 2022, but said that they didn’t have to refer to any paper to make the PC a safer place for everyone, including his daughter, who visits every week.
Michaels said that transparency and openness have changed the way they train people at NXT. He said that treating people with respect and love isn’t difficult to do. He wants to continue to foster that environment.

- Asked about TNA’s Jordynne Grace appearing in the women’s Rumble match, he said it’s a different era now where things that weren’t allowed in the past are possible. He joked that Paul Levesque gets to do those on the main roster and that he’s questioned why that hasn’t happened in NXT yet. He would love the opportunity to bring experienced talent in from outside groups to work with NXT wrestlers.
- Asked about William Regal returning to TV, Michaels said everyone was extremely excited about his brief cameo and he has no doubt there will be more of those in the future.
- He talked about the pride in seeing talents like Bron Breakker, Tiffany Stratton and Carmelo Hayes in the Royal Rumble matches and that if felt like they belonged.
- Michaels said they don’t have to work hard to find spots for women on NXT shows because there are so many talented athletes that bring it week after week. He heavily credited Sara Amato for the work she’s done and that said she’s the best-kept secret in the business
