Rousey responded to McMahon’s resignation in a post on social media.
Ronda Rousey’s social media post from Saturday was a response to Vince McMahon resigning from WWE.
McMahon was fired from WWE on Friday night following allegations made against him by Janel Grant in her lawsuit. Nick Khan, the president of WWE, sent an email to all staff members informing them that McMahon had resigned from WWE as well as its parent company TKO Group Holdings. McMahon will no longer be involved in WWE or TKO Group.
McMahon is the executive chairman of TKO Group.
Rousey does not believe that McMahon is going to remain uninvolved. Rousey said in her post on X that McMahon would be involved with WWE as long as Bruce Prichard was still there. Rousey claimed McMahon is still running the company through Prichard after his “retirement” in July 2022.
Rousey wrote the following:
Bruce Prichard, Vince’s avatar is still in charge if Bruce is still around. Bruce was still running the business when Vince was ‘gone before’
Prichard, who was a long-time ally of McMahon in WWE creative, rejoined the team in 2019.
McMahon retired in 2022 during a hush money scandal, which was sparked when the WWE board learned of Grant’s settlement. McMahon, who was still the majority shareholder at that time, was able force himself back to power in January 2023 because he was still the majority shareholder. This time, WWE has been bought by Endeavor.
On Thursday, Grant’s lawsuit against McMahon and WWE was filed. The lawsuit accuses McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis of physical and mental abuse, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and sex slavery.
McMahon is vowing to vigorously defend against the allegations.
Rousey’s contract with WWE expired after SummerSlam in 2023. Later in the year the UFC Hall of Famer wrestled three tag matches with Marina Shafir, for Lucha VaVoom Wrestling Revolver and ROH.
