Janel Grant filed her lawsuit a day after McMahon resigned.
Vince McMahon has left WWE after Janel Grant made horrifying accusations against him.
Nick Khan, the president of WWE, sent an email on Friday night to his staff informing them of McMahon’s resignation as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings. Khan said that McMahon would no longer be a part of TKO or WWE.

I wanted to let you know that Vince McMahon resigned from his positions as TKO’s Executive Chairman and TKO Board of Directors. He will no long have a role at TKO Group Holdings, or WWE.
McMahon resigned one day after Grant filed suit accusing him of sexual assault, physical and emotional abuse and sex slavery. TKO called the accusations “horrible” and said that they would be addressing this internally.
McMahon released a statement following his resignation in which he stated that he would vigorously defend himself from what he called “baseless” accusations:
I stand by my previous statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is full of lies, obscene, made-up incidents that never happened, and is an vindictive distortion. I will vigorously defend myself and clear my name against these baseless allegations.
In order to show respect to the WWE Universe, TKO’s extraordinary business, its board members, shareholders, partners, and constituents, as well as all the employees and Superstars that have helped make WWE the global leader that it is today I have decided, effective immediately, to resign my executive chairmanship, and the TKO Board of Directors.
Slim Jim announced Friday that it would suspend its sponsorship with WWE because of the allegations against McMahon.
Grant is a former WWE worker. In her lawsuit, McMahon and WWE are named as defendants.
McMahon retired from WWE earlier in July 2022, amid a hush money scandal that began after the WWE board of director learned of his settlement agreement with Grant. McMahon was still WWE’s majority owner at the time, but he forced himself back to power in January 2023. This time, WWE was acquired by Endeavor in September.
