TKO responds internally to Vince McMahon’s allegations in todays Wrestling news
TKO released a statement in response to Janel Grant’s lawsuit against McMahon.
TKO Group Holdings (parent company of WWE) released a statement Thursday following a lawsuit filed with horrifying accusations against Vince McMahon.
Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit alleging she was abused physically and emotionally by WWE employees. She also accused them of sexual assault and human trafficking. The suit names McMahon and WWE as defendants.
Grant is a former WWE employee who was investigated by the WWE Board of Directors after a 2022 settlement between him and McMahon. McMahon left WWE in July 2022 amid the hush money scandal, but later returned to power. Grant claims that the investigation is a sham and that she was not contacted by WWE about it, despite her willingness to participate.
Grant’s settlement was supposed to be $3 million with McMahon, but according to her lawsuit he stopped paying after the first $1 million installment. Grant wants to void the contract and seeks unspecified damages.
Variety received the following response from a TKO spokesperson in response to Grant’s allegations.
Mr. McMahon is not in control of TKO, nor does he supervise the day-today operations at WWE. Although this issue predates the tenure of our TKO executive teams at the company we take Ms. Grant’s horrific allegations seriously and are addressing it internally.
McMahon is the executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings. The company was formed in September last year when Endeavor completed its acquisition of WWE.
Mark Shapiro, the company’s COO and president, is Ari Emanuel. Nick Khan is WWE’s president. Paul “Triple H Levesque” is WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
McMahon, a TKO representative, was present when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson rang the opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
