Rollins wants a ring match before WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins says he feels like he has “dodged bullets” with his injury to the knee.
Rollins suffered from a partially torn Meniscus and a torn MCL during his World Heavyweight Championship defence against Jinder Mahal in the Raw episode of January 15. Rollins appeared on Raw earlier this week and discussed his injury. Rollins said that he will still defend his title at WrestleMania.
Rollins stated that he hoped to be back at full strength within a month in an interview with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier. Rollins wants a chance to compete before WrestleMania, so that it isn’t the first match he has back.
Rollins said:
Man, rehab is going to be a real pain. But you’ve dodged a big bullet. The ACL was intact. Anyone who knows anything about knee ligaments will know that the ACL is a big one. This is good. The MCL will heal over time. You know, you’ll be able to get in there and we’ll do a few things, including PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment and some rehab.
I hope to be back at my full strength in about a month. Around a week is my timeline. We’ll see how things go. We’re going to take it day by day. I’d love to be back within a month. I don’t wanna walk into WrestleMania, and that will be my first match for two months, or three months, or whatever. This is not good for me. I want to be in a position to go back and test the wheel, to make sure we’re on the right track. We’ll see what happens, but I am taking it day by day. I’m glad, as I said, we avoided a serious situation that would have put me on a shelf for 6-9 month.
The injury occurred when Rollins performed a Lionsault against Mahal during their match. Rollins won the match by defeating Mahal and remaining World Heavyweight Champion.
Rollins’ MCL tear is grade two.
