Cena recently spoke to PEOPLE about the end of career.
John Cena is aware that his time in WWE is drawing to a close.
The 47-year old spoke to PEOPLE about the end of wrestling career. Cena said that he is trying to decide when it’s the right time to close “that book.”
Cena said, “I’m 47 years old and I don’t have much more time left in WWE.”
“You know, i’m trying figure out when to shut that chapter,” he said.
Cena says, “I wouldn’t have been who I am without the WWE. I made a promise to myself that I would not just be there for me.” “I want to give everything I have to the audience every time I perform. “I had to start forming an exit strategy when I reached the 45-year mark. I’m still working on it.”
Cena says he will listen to what WWE wants and how he can help the company.
Cena said, “I want to do the best for the company.” “I’m willing listen to what WWE says, whether it’s for a big match or just a final one, or how I can be integrated in the product to let people know that this chapter has ended.”
Cena was elected into the Hall of Fame Class of 2012. This was his first year on ballot. He also won several awards during his career from this publication, including Best Gimmick (2003) and Most Charismatic (2006), Best Box Office Draw (2007) and Best on Interviews (2007). Other awards include Feud of the year with CM Punk (2011), Match of the year vs. CM Punk in Money in the Bank 2011 and Wrestlers of the year in 2007 and 2010 He was also voted the Most Charismatic Decade 2000-2009.
