Mark Briscoe speaks on the anniversary of his brother’s death.
Mark Briscoe delivered an emotional speech at the anniversary of the death of his brother.
Briscoe paid tribute to his brother Jay who died in a car crash on January 17, last year. He mentioned that his nieces had been in the car on the day of Jay’s accident and that they had told the family that his oldest niece might never walk again. Mark brought out his niece who walked on stage with her brother and sister. They hugged each other as a video highlighting Jay’s life and career began to play.
Mark made his AEW debut in a match with Jay Lethal, on the January 25th, 2013 edition of AEW Dynamite. The Briscoes were previously banned from all WBD programs due to Jay’s anti-LGBTQ Tweets, for which he has since apologized.
Mark has continued to wrestle as a singles grappler since Jay’s death. He recently competed in AEW’s Continental Classic tournament and earned just one victory.
