WWE NXT Vengeance Day: Two official title matches in todays Wrestling news
Next month, the NXT and NXT Women’s championships will be decided.
Vengeance Day, the event that will take place in Tennessee next month, has two official title matches.
Roxanne Perez won a battle royal at the end of Tuesday’s episode to become the number one contender for Lyra’s NXT Women’s Championship. Ilja Dragunov’s match with Trick Williams for the NXT Championship was confirmed earlier in the show. It was originally scheduled to take place during New Year’s Evil.
Perez, Kelani James, Fallon Henley, and Kiana Jordan were the final four participants of the battle royal. Perez then pinned Jordan to become the number one contender. Next week, Perez and Lyra Valkyria will sign a contract.
Dragunov returned to the scene on Tuesday, telling Williams that their NXT Championship Match was set for Vengeance day. Carmelo Hayes was upset by this, as he pointed out that Williams and he are in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the finals will be at Vengeance day. Williams suggested that he would be able to work both matches.
Dragon Lee also challenged Oba Femi for a rematch in the North American Championship. Femi, after rejecting a match with Lee on the spot, said he would consider the match for Vengeance day.
