Mickie James joins OVW as creative director & Executive Producer in todays Wrestling news
James is a five-time WWE Women’s Champion and TNA Knockouts Champion.
Mickie James now has a new wrestling home, Ohio Valley Wrestling.
Fightful reported on Thursday that the five-time WWE Women’s Champion, five-time Impact/TNA Knockouts Champion, and five-time TNA Knockouts Champion would become OVW’s executive producer, head of female talents, and creative director.
OVW was the former development territory for WWE between 2000-2008. In 2023, Netflix’s docuseries, “Wrestlers”, which examines the history of the company and the current situation behind the scenes, debuted. It hasn’t been announced if it will return for another season. In addition to the pay-per view, they also have a live weekly TV show.
In November of last year, it was reported James was taking a hiatus from Impact/TNA and still maintaining good relations with her longtime residence. The 44-year old hasn’t wrestled in a while, since she failed to beat Trinity for the Knockouts championship at Bound for Glory last October.
As of this writing, neither the organization nor James has publicly confirmed the news.
