Samoa Joe is ready to entertain people again.
Joe recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about his goals as AEW World Champion. He told Justin Barrasso he wanted to focus the fans’ attention back on the ring product and let the “petty things” melt away.
Joe said:
Joe said, “I know the world of professional wrestlers.” “I understand how things work on a high level and the kind of people that are needed backstage to make it happen. I try to be this person.
As champion, it’s your job to be the standard bearer. I’m happy to accept that mantle. I want to focus on getting the fans attention back to the conflict in the ring. A lot of the petty things need to melt away. Let’s get to entertaining people again.”
Joe said he was looking forward to defending the title against “extraordinary” individuals on the AEW roster.
He continued:
Joe said, “My goal is for us to have some really great matches with exceptional individuals, and we have a lot of them on this roster. I want to give the fans a good reason to tune in.” “Something is going to happen, and it will be violent,” said Joe. “That’s my vision for my reign and I look forward to executing that.”
Hook called Joe out on Saturday’s episode Collision for a title shot. Joe is scheduled to attend AEW Dynamite Homecoming at Daily’s Place tonight, and will most likely accept the challenge.
Joe became the seventh wrestler in history to win the AEW World championship when he won it at Worlds End. MJF’s reign as champion ended after 406 days, and 10 successful defences.
