WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: Two teams advance in todays Wrestling news
Axiom and Nathan Frazer, as well as Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin, have advanced.
Two teams have advanced to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Tuesday, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin won their first-round matches. Axiom and Nathan Frazer also won. Breakker and Corbin defeated Gallus while Axiom and Frazer defeated Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. They will now play each other in semifinals.
Tuesday, the rest of tournament bracket was revealed. Next week, Chase U (Riley Osborne and Duke Hudson) will take on LWO’s (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro), whereas Carmell Hayes & Trick Williams face Edrisenofe & Malik Blade. The finals are scheduled for NXT Vengeance Day, which will be held on February 4.
Hayes had told Williams earlier on NXT that he was the final place in the tournament. Williams was unsure about entering the tournament, preferring to focus on his upcoming NXT Championship match. Williams warmed to the idea when Hayes mentioned that Williams could be a double champion.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic returns after 2023, when there was no tournament. The Creed Brothers won the 2022 tournament for men and the team of Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai in the women’s event.
