Oba Femi wins WWE NXT North American Championship in todays Wrestling news
The Breakout Tournament champion cashed in on his title shot Tuesday.
Oba Femi, the winner of the Breakout Tournament, is now the WWE NXT North American champion.
Femi won the North American title by claiming his guaranteed title shot against Dragon Lee in Tuesday’s WWE NXT Episode.
Lee had already successfully defended his title on the show once, by defeating Lexis Queen. Femi returned to the ring after that match and cashed in the shot he earned for winning the Breakout Tournament Finals on the New Year’s Evil episode last week of NXT.
Femi defeated Lee by pinfall after hitting his version Last Ride powerbomb.
Femi’s title win is the latest chapter of a meteoric rise, as he has only 21 career matches according online wrestling database Cagematch.
Femi was a former track and field athlete from Alabama. He was a part of WWE’s NIL Program in 2021 and in 2022. He was officially signed by the company in August of 2022. His in-ring debut took place on an episode of NXT level Up in November of 2022.
Femi’s sixth match on the NXT weekly program on USA was on Tuesday. He remains undefeated with a score of 6-0.
