The Authors of Pain & Paul Ellering return on WWE SmackDown in todays Wrestling news
They’re a part of a brand new faction along with Karrion and Scarlett
Akam and Rezar returned to WWE tonight on SmackDown, one week after their return had been teased. Karrion Kross has formed a new faction with Scarlett, The Authors of Pain and Ellering.
AOP ambushed Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits at SmackDown. Kross joined in on the attack. AOP hit the Super Collider on The Street Profits and then Kross took out Lashley.
Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Kross teased that AOP and Ellering were returning.
AOP was signed to WWE for a long time before returning tonight. Their initial run in the company lasted between 2016 and 2020.
AOP won the Raw Tag Team title and NXT Tag Team title once each during their first WWE tenure. Ellering, who is a WWE Hall of Famer for his time as manager of The Road Warriors in NXT, managed AOP.
AOP launched a new promotion called Wrestling Entertainment Series after their release. The promotion cancelled its debut show, and never started.
AOP’s attack against Lashley and The Street Profits occurred just after Lashley announced that he will be entering the men’s Royal Rumble in 2024.
Scarlett debuted her new look with brown hair on SmackDown.
