Kevin Owens will be the first to compete for Logan Paul’s United States title.
Paul will defend his United States Championship at the Royal Rumble against Owens on Saturday, 27 January. Owens won the WWE’s US title number 1 contender’s tournament and secured his title shot.
Owens defeated Santos Escobar tonight on SmackDown. Owens defeated Austin Theory and Carmelo Haes in the first round.
Paul was the commentator for the Owens-Escobar match. After the match ended, he made a joke about Owens. Owens then punched Paul with his cast-covered right hand.
In the storyline, Owens’ hand is broken after it was attacked by Theory and Grayson Waller a month ago.
The history between Owens & Paul dates back to 2021, when Paul made his debut for WWE. Owens stunned Paul at WrestleMania 38 that year.
Paul won the United States title by defeating Rey Mysterio in Crown Jewel last November. This will be Paul’s first title defense.
The Royal Rumble will be held at Tropicana field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The following matches are confirmed for the show:
