Riddle’s last promotion was in 2018.
Matt Riddle is returning to Major League Wrestling.
MLW confirmed that Riddle would face Jacob Fatu on January 6, 2024 at the Kings of Coliseum in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.
Riddle’s return to MLW after 2018 will be his first match.
The news of Riddle’s return spread Wednesday, when flyers featuring his image for the show were distributed at the 2300 Arena.
MLW released a press statement today announcing Riddle’s return:
Matt Riddle has returned to Major League Wrestling, where he is known for his barefoot fighting and big wins. He has now set his sights on the “most dangerous man on earth”: Jacob Fatu.
In 2018, Riddle danced to the beat of his own drum, dominating the MLW World Heavyweight Title Tournament, and advancing in the finals of a championship match that could have gone either way.
Riddle, who has won titles all over the world, returns to MLW in order to win the big one – the MLW Heavyweight Championship. To do this, he must face the most dangerous beast in the country in the form of the “Samoan Werewolf”, Jacob Fatu.
This dream match will be a classic.
Fatu has dominated Major League Wrestling. He won the MLW National Openweight Title as well as the MLW Heavyweight World Championship.
Fatu has been very vocal about his ambitions for 2024: to become the first MLW World Heavyweight champion.
Now Fatu and Riddle fight for their futures. Who will win?
Riddle wrestled previously for MLW between December 2017 and April 2018. His last match was the finals for a tournament that crowned a new MLW World champion. Shane Strickland defeated him that night.
