AEW Rampage Holiday Bash to feature international title match in todays Wrestling news

Orange Cassidy defends his title in Friday’s episode.

The AEW Rampage holiday bash episode on Friday will feature an International Championship match.

During Wednesday’s Dynamite, it was revealed that Orange Cassidy would defend his International title on Friday, December 22, Rampage. The Holiday Bash episode will be taped on Wednesday night.

The match was set-up with a Dynamite backstage promo segment featuring Cassidy and Romero. Kris Statlander, Trent Beretta and Renee Paquette also appeared. Romero stated that despite having recently lost the NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship to CMLL in CMLL he is looking forward to more international opportunities. Cassidy announced the title match on Friday.

Cassidy is currently in the second reign of the AEW International Championship, after defeating Rey Fenix at the October 10 Dynamite and capturing the title.

Cassidy’s last title defense was on Saturday’s Collision, against Bryan Keith. He has also successfully defended his title against John Silver, Claudio Castagnoli Jon Moxley and Angelico during this second reign.

Rampage Holiday Bash Edition currently only has the International title match announced.
