Myers told Sports Illustrated it was a simple decision to re-sign.
Brian Myers will be around for the next era of TNA Wrestling.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Myers had signed a new TNA Wrestling deal. Myers, formerly known as Curt Hawkins and released from WWE in 2020, has been a member of the Impact Wrestling team since then. He had previously worked in TNA from 2015 to 2020.
Myers said, “This is the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had in my career.” “For the past three and a half years, it has been a perfect match. “I get to be my best self as a TNA Wrestling superstar, so this choice was easy for me.”
The name change from Impact Wrestling to TNA will officially take place starting with Hard to Kill, on Saturday January 13. TNA will also be taping a series of television shows following the PPV the next night. Myers will be part of a six-man tag team match with Moose & Eddie Edwards at the tapings. They will face Kazuchika Okada and Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin.
Myers also hosts The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast along with Matt Cardona. He also owns Create-A-Pro Wrestling Academy along with Pat Buck.
Myers told Sports Illustrated that “with the success of both the podcast and toy business, it is almost like we have found a cheat-code in pro wrestling.” “In this industry, decisions are not always in your control. You don’t always do what you want. This outside venture is a healthy way to balance our lives, and we can control it. It took us a long time to figure it out, but now we have a great source of creativity.”
Myers stated that he wants to become a World Champion in pro wrestling.
Myers said, “I show up every day at TNA to achieve this goal.” “But that’s certainly not my focus. I’m focused on what I can control. This is my attitude, work ethic, performances in the ring and my look. I and Eddie Edwards are a great tag team. But, I will never lose sight of my world title. There is nothing more I want professionally. “That’s my goal and I’m working hard to achieve it.”
Edwards recently signed a TNA Wrestling new contract. TNA has announced the addition of KUSHIDA Trent Seven and Leon Slater to their roster.
