TNA Wrestling has signed one of the most decorated junior-heavyweights in history.
Today, it was announced that KUSHIDA had signed a TNA Wrestling deal. He has been regularly competing for the promotion as part of Impact Wrestling’s working relationship with NJPW since 2022.
TNA announced that “it’s time for KUSHIDA take his career to a new level, and it happens at TNA Wrestling!”
KUSHIDA’s contract with TNA Wrestling is official. KUSHIDA, a New Japan Pro-Wrestling star for many years, has held the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship as well as IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championships multiple times. KUSHIDA is on the verge of success ever since he arrived last year. He pushed Steve Maclin to the limit in an IMPACT World Championship at Rebellion 2023. TNA Wrestling is the perfect place for KUSHIDA’s career to reach new heights.
KUSHIDA, 40, wrestled at Victory Road in 2023 and the 1000th Impact episode. KUSHIDA challenged Lio Rush, then-champion of the X-Division, for the X-Division Title at Victory Road.
KUSHIDA has won six IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championships and three IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships in NJPW. He held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team title with Kevin Knight this year. KUSHIDA & Knight recently participated in NJPW Super Junior Tag League.
KUSHIDA had a contract with WWE between 2019-2022. KUSHIDA stated that he would live in the United States when he returned to NJPW, in June 2022.
KUSHIDA has joined Trent Seven and Leon Slater on the TNA roster. PCO has re-signed for the company.
The name change from Impact Wrestling to TNA will officially take place at Hard to Kill, on Saturday 13th January. The pay-per view is taking place in Las Vegas.
