Kurt Angle is in a unique position. His body is breaking down and his painkiller issues are now public knowledge after being fired by World Wrestling Entertainment on 8/25.

He is the most sought-after individual in the industry, possibly ever. He can now, at least in the short term, make more money and, perhaps, further damage his body. Few will say it publicly, but virtually every major promotion, from Ring of Honor, to various groups in Japan, to UFC, and many other MMA groups and everyone in between, has expressed anything from curiosity to extreme interests in using Angle once he recovers from his current injuries. Nobody has publicly said this. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, is trying in private to contact him, and discussing ideas on how he can be used.

While he could write his ticket as a pro wrestler, working a light schedule in Japan or TNA for big money, it’s in MMA that he could get a one day payday that would very possibly approach his annual $1,000,000 salary from working in WWE.
