Andrade El Idolo won the match against Eddie Kingston on Saturday.

The Blue League portion from the AEW continental classic continued on Saturday’s Collision, a show which featured a man who won his first match and a minor upset.

Bryan Danielson suffered his first loss of the tournament when he lost to Andrade El-Idolo during the main event.

The storyline for the match was 24 hours after Danielson beat Daniel Garcia in Friday’s Rampage. Andrade repeatedly attacked Danielson’s right eye, even ripping off the protective eye patch to make it bleed.

Andrade, at the end of a competitive game, went on a offensive roll, focusing on the eyes. He won the match after hitting a Hammerlock DDT just under two minutes left.

Andrade and Claudio Castagnoli engaged in a shoving fight after the match while Danielson was being checked, setting up their upcoming Blue League match. Andrade is undefeated after his first two tournament bouts.

Eddie Kingston, the men’s NJPW Strong Openweight Champion and ROH World Champion, won his first match after going 0-for-2 on his first two appearances. He defeated Castagnoli, a former ROH World Champion.

Kingston survived a Ricola Bomb, which nearly earned three, in a competitive bout. After a striking interchange, Kingston hit two spinning fists which also nearly got a three count. Castagnoli reversed the power bomb into a pinning combo, but Kingston reversed it to get the pin.

Both matches were the longest so far in the tournament.

On Wednesday’s Dynamite, Gold League action will take place with Jon Moxley taking on Swerve Strickland and Rush taking on Jay Lethal. Mark Briscoe will face Jay White.

The AEW Worlds end tournament finals will take place on Saturday, December 30, in Long Island, New York. The winner will receive the “modern” AEW Triple Crown, which includes the ROH World title and the NJPW Strong Openweight title. They also get the new AEW continental title.
