After his match at Full Gear, TikTok star AJ Befumo wants to do more with AEW.
Befumo, 48, a former indie wrestler and TikTok star will return to the ring on the Full Gear pre-show later this month. He will face QT Marshall. Befumo signed a deal for a single match on the pay-per view, but he is happy with how AEW handled things up to this point and would love to have more matches.
“I think [there will be more wrestling for him],” said he to the Battleground Podcast. Listen, everything has to be in order. Hey, listen up, the audience must want more. Let’s begin with that. Let’s begin with the audience must want more. What I can promise is that I will bring the boom to make the audience want more. It’s all on me. I’ll be bringing it. I will make this audience want more and then we can start. If the audience wants to see more, I love the way AEW handled everything up until this point. It would be a great honor to do more matches for AEW. We’re very busy with other social media stuff, so everything needs to line up. But the door is open.”
Befumo’s Full Gear name will be “Big Boom AJ”. He wrestled on the indies for 11 years between the 1990s and 2000s, often competing in New Jersey. Full Gear will be held at the Prudential Center, Newark, on Saturday November 23.
Befumo’s son, Eric Befumo (Big Justice), will be in his corner at the PPV. Befumo (Big Justice) and Big Justice (Befumo) are known as “Costco Guys”, documenting their trips at the wholesale store in their father-son channel. The song “We Bring the Boom”, which they released this summer, helped them grow in popularity.
Befumo said on the Battleground Podcast, that even though he had been away from the ring for some time, he knew in his heart he would be back at some point. He loves pro-wrestling and the connection you can have with the audience. He has been training in the ring for this match and noted that the hardest thing was getting his footwork right. Befumo says his footing has improved and he is more confident after every training session.
