Roderick Strong will be facing MJF at Full Gear next Saturday after Wednesday’s AEW dynamite.
Strong (seen below) defeated Lance Archer Wednesday in a falls-count anywhere match to go 3-0, while Adam Cole lost to Konosuke Toshita due to the use MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring. This puts him at 2-1 over his last three matches.
The reason this matters is that MJF stated that for Cole or Strong, to face him on the pay-per view, they must first win three consecutive matches. Cole said that Tony Khan had changed the stipulation last week, saying that it would now be a three way if both men win three straight matches.
MJF did not appear on the show on Wednesday, but appeared in a pre-recorded segment after the Cole/Takeshita bout ended.
If the match goes on as planned, Strong vs. MJF will be a first-ever match and MJF’s first action since All Out in September when he beat Daniel Garcia.
Cole has not been announced as a referee special or any involvement in the game, but it is still possible.
