Former WWE NXT broadcaster McKenzie Mitchell set for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling role in todays Wrestling news

McKenzie Mitchell, a former member of the WWE NXT broadcasting team, will return to pro wrestling in a new promotion run by Scott D’Amore next month.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling has announced that Mitchell will be the backstage correspondent at the promotion’s inaugural events on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20. The shows, titled Forged in Excellence, will be held at St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario.

Mitchell was released from WWE in December 2023, after working as a backstage host and on-air personality for NXT. She had a similar position in Impact Wrestling before joining WWE.

Triller TV will broadcast both nights of Forged in Excellence as live pay-per view events. Mauro Ranallo, Don Callis and former TNA broadcaster Sam Leterna are the commentary team.

The shows have been announced. Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling revives the Maple Leaf Wrestling name that existed between the 1930s and 1980s. D’Amore is working on a new project after being fired from TNA Wrestling in the beginning of this year.
