Sammy Guevara has decided to stop getting in the way of himself.
The 31-year old returned to AEW/ROH late in July after missing the previous five months because of suspension. He was suspended in Febraury for not following the concussion protocol during a no disqualification match with Jeff Hardy on Rampage.
Guevara said in the latest edition of the vlog that he wants to be his best self since he has returned.
“I’ve taken so much time to think about what Sammy Guevara wants from wrestling. Truthfully, I want to be my best self. “I’m tired of standing in my way. It might sound corny, but I’m not.
Guevara’s suspension from AEW was also imposed in 2020, after comments he had made about Mercedes Mone from a podcast dated 2016 were resurfaced.
“I want this to be the greatest version of Sammy Guevara. I don’t wanna stand in my way. I want to keep giving my all to whatever comes my way, whether it’s Ring of Honor, Collision or Dynamite. “You put me in the wrestling ring, and I’m going to give it all.”
Guevara and Dustin Rhodes won the ROH World Tag Team Titles only a few short weeks after their return. Most recently, they defended them in a Bunkhouse Brawl with the Undisputed Kingdom during Saturday’s episode Collision.
Guevara and Hologram also won a match against The Beast Mortos & Matt Taven at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice field, just before the home opener.
