Eddie Kingston gave an update on his injuries during a recent radio interview.
Kingston sustained a broken leg and a tibular break, as well as a torn meniscus, at NJPW Resurgence in 2024 when he was suplexed into a table during a Last Man Standing no-ropes match against Gabe Kidd. It’s believed that he underwent surgery in July. He hopes to return in May 2025.
Kingston, who spoke about his recovery in The DAVINci Report and expressed frustration at his insurance company.
“It has been a long process.” Kingston said, “It’s all good until my insurance breaks down. Then I get frustrated.” Insurance is a scam, people. Just throwing it out there.”
Kingston said that he is also starting to feel “itchy” since he can walk and exercise more.
“I’m getting itchy at home. I’m starting get like, “Alright. I can walk a little now.” I can walk now, I can lift some weights and I can squat a little, but not too low. Now, it’s time to get moving. ‘”
Kingston is grateful that he has been financially supported while he was injured.
“There are days when mentally I’m defeated, but other times I think, ‘Look, man, I remember being injured on the indies, and not being able pay for anything. I’m fortunate to be a part of a business that is still helping out during my accident. I still get direct deposits, do you know what I’m talking about?
