WWE claims that Owens broke his 4th and fifth metacarpals on SmackDown.

Kevin Owens’ storyline has been updated by WWE following his match against Grayson Waller in SmackDown.

WWE announced today that Owens “sustained a injury” on SmackDown. “He fractured his 4th and fifth metacarpal.” Last night, the hand injury was a part of Owens’ and Waller’s match.

Austin Theory interfered during Owens vs. Waller and stomped Owens right hand against the ring stairs. Waller then focused on Owens’ right hand for the remainder of the match. On commentary, it had been suggested that Owens’s hand was broken.

Owens won the match by rolling up Waller after he moved his hand when Waller tried to kick it.

WWE posted a video of Owens on his way to have his hand X rayed after SmackDown.

Owens was announced as one of eight participants in a tournament last night to determine the number one contender for Logan Paul’s United States Championship. Owens, Waller and Theory were announced as tournament participants, along with Bobby Lashley (Dragon Lee), Santos Escobar (Bobby Lashley), Karrion Kross (Karrion Kross), Dragon Lee, Karrion, and an unknown NXT entrant.

The tournament will begin on SmackDown this Friday with Lashley taking on Kross, and Escobar taking on Dragon Lee.

Logan Paul was the commentator for Owens vs. Waller yesterday night, and he mocked Owens all through. Owens interrupted a Paul promo before the match.
