Dave Bautista believes CM Punk can successfully transition from WWE superstar to Hollywood actor.
In a video for BuzzFeed’s website, WWE legend Bautista is asked which wrestler from today he believes would be successful in Hollywood. Bautista chose Punk as he believes Punk’s potential to be an actor is “pretty limitless.”
Bautista said: “You know who, in my opinion, was overlooked as an actor? I don’t even know if he pursued it as much he would have liked to because he is still heavily pursuing pro wrestling. But CM Punk and Phil Brooks.” “His acting potential is pretty limitless. I’d like to see him do more acting. I’d love to work with this man. I think he is passionate about acting, but his heart still belongs to professional wrestling. He’ll never be able fully immerse himself in acting until he lets that go. But I think Phil Brooks is a great actor.”
Punk has a few acting credits, including the horror film Girl on the Third Floor. He also appeared in the TV shows Heels and Mayans M.C. In order to “expand his presence in entertainment,” Punk signed with Paradigm talent agency earlier this year.
Punk will face Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell Match at WWE’s Bad Blood PLE, on Saturday, October 5th.
McIntyre plays a part in Bautista’s new film The Killer’s Game. The movie will be released in theaters on Friday.
