Tony Khan has retaliated against Stephen P. New who represents Kevin Kelly and The Tate Twins.
Jim Ross stated on his podcast, shortly after the news broke that Kelly & the Tates filed suit against AEW to challenge the classification wrestlers as independent contractor, that he found such lawsuits “frivolous.”
New’s response to JR’s comments about House of Kayfabe was:
“JR, Jim Ross called this a frivolous suit. Let me tell you, this isn’t a frivolous suit. You’re part the problem. You, Jim Ross are part of the issue because you fed these crap contracts to the WWE guys – as Talent Relations for 25 years. You told them that it was either take it or leave and that they had to sign these crap agreements, which were contracts of adhesion they should never have signed.
“I am not surprised in the slightest that you went on Conrad Thompson’s podcast and said this is a frivolous suit. I might lose, but by God, it’s still not frivolous.
New continued, “Tony Khan paid Jim Ross a great deal of money for him to do nothing in the last five years.” “So, if i were Jim Ross, and i was living in Jacksonville Beach, and earning a lot of money for not doing much at all, i’d probably come to the conclusion that Stephen P. New’s lawsuit is frivolous as well. Everyone has a price.”
Khan responded to New’s remarks on Saturday by writing:
“I just read Stephen P. New’s comments about @JRsBBQ. I’m shocked and appalled by the comments made about Jim Ross, a legend who was a part of AEW from its beginning, and is still important today. AEW, JR & I retain all rights. “See you tonight at #AEWAllOut.”
