Cody Rhodes defends the Undisputed WWE Championship during the premiere of SmackDown, on USA Network.
WWE announced on Friday’s SmackDown episode that Rhodes would defend his title in a solid steel enclosure against Solo Sikoa. SmackDown will return to USA Network this Friday, September 13, for an episode.
SmackDown’s GM Nick Aldis announced the title match during a Friday episode promo segment between Rhodes & The Bloodline.
SmackDown USA will return with two additional matches.
Kevin Owens, who defeated A-Town Down Under this week in a triple-threat match, will find a mysterious partner to team up with next week against Austin Theory and Grayson Waller of A-Town Down Under.
The series between Carmelo and Andrade is also set to continue next week with another singles match. The pair have a 2-2 record in their last four singles matches on SmackDown. The winner of the next week’s match will have a shot at LA Knights’ United States Championship. This has not yet been announced.
