Orton chose SmackDown on Friday over Raw.

Randy Orton will be joining SmackDown in the future.

In a show-long storyline that lasted all day on Friday, Randy Orton chose SmackDown to Raw despite Paul Heyman’s pleas. SmackDown’s GM Nick Aldis invited Orton to SmackDown with the intention of making Orton exclusive. Orton was a Raw roster member before he was sidelined by a back injury in 2013.

Both Raw GM Adam Pearce, and Aldis tried to sign Orton for their brand in the main event segment. Heyman told Orton that The Bloodline was going to make the decision for him. LA Knight saved Orton by brawling with Sikoa in the back. Orton then pinned Uso and threw away the Raw contract, signing with SmackDown at the end of the show.

Orton returned to Survivor Series, teaming up with Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn. They defeated The Judgment Day, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins in WarGames.
