Toni Storm, who lost to Mariah in London, would like to see their rematch take place on a more favorable field.
Grand Slam Australia, which will be held at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane in February next year, will mark AEW’s debut in Australia. Storm was interviewed by ESPN Australia at Suncorp Stadium to promote the event. She was asked about a possible rematch with May in Brisbane.
Storm replied, “I hope that’s true.” “I hope that I get my rematch against Mariah here. We fought on her home turf in London, Wembley. I think it’s about time that I bring it home. “I think it’s about time I got back to Brisbane to beat the crap out of her and make my country and family proud.”
May won the AEW World Championship from Storm on August 25, 2008. The story of the mentor/protege relationship was inspired by classic films such as “All About Eve” or “Sunset Boulevard.” May will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Nyla Rose on Dynamite this coming Wednesday.
Storm was born in New Zealand, but grew up in Australia. She told ESPN Australia this Grand Slam is a big deal for her professionally and personally.
“I never thought this would be possible. I left Australia around 10 years ago in order to achieve this dream. Make it big in America as a pro wrestling star. Storm said, “I never in my life thought there would be such a large show in Brisbane.
“I’m overwhelmed coming back.” I can’t imagine this happening. I can’t imagine performing in front of my family and friends, as well as the people who originally trained me. This is a huge deal both professionally and personally for me. I can’t imagine it’s going happen.”
Grand Slam Australia will take place on Saturday, 15 February 2025.
