According to reports, one of the most decorated women in the WWE’s women’s division signed a new contract with the company.
PWInsider reported Monday that Asuka had signed a long-term WWE deal. The terms of the contract have not been revealed.
Asuka, 42, is currently out of action due to a knee injury. She hasn’t wrestled since losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team title at Backlash. Asuka had surgery after noting in May that she would be taking a break from wrestling to deal with a persistent knee problem.
Asuka appeared with her Damage CTRL stablemates during WWE’s house shows tour of Japan in July. WWE returned to Japan for the first time since 2019 with a three-show house show tour.
Since joining WWE in the year 2015, Asuka is one of the most prominent members of the women’s division. She’s a Women’s Tag Team and Women’s Championship Champion, as well as a Royal Rumble winner and Money in the Bank.
Asuka is currently a part of the WWE Raw roster. She and Kairi were the Women’s Tag Team Champions before losing to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Cargill & Belair regained their belts over the weekend with a win over Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn in Bash in Berlin.
