Ricky Starks has had enough of hearing that he has rejected creative pitches at AEW.
Starks responded on Sunday to a comment made by X, who said that the reason he wasn’t given more opportunities at AEW was because “his attitude when given smaller opportunities was to pout” and “disagree with creative.”
Starks wrote the following:
“Enough is Enough.” It’s not often that I speak about this, but I’m tired. I’ve never turned anything down. Just Stop.”
“At one time there was a plan for Big Bill to turn against Starks and make Starks a babyface, but that did not end up happening.” Meltzer wrote that one report said it was Starks’ decision, but that the only thing that happened was that it didn’t.
Fightful reported later that “a source with direct knowledge of this situation claimed that (Starks’) only rejection in the past several months was to break up with Big Bill, and feuding.”
Tony Khan, in an interview with CBS Sports earlier this summer, praised Starks by saying:
“I think Ricky Starks’ is incredible. I’d love for him to be involved and back at AEW at any time. He’s been an integral part of our work for four of the last five years.”
Khan would also mention Starks’ role in Sting’s final in-ring performance as a major contribution he made to the company.
“We talk about the five years of AEW and to me, the most special part was the three-year run that Sting had. I thought we gave him the greatest send-off in wrestling history and Ricky played a big part in that,” Khan said.
