In a recent interview, Drew McIntyre explains what led to the viral photo of him with Jack Perry.
McIntyre shared the photo below of him and Perry at the end of July, but removed it shortly after. He captioned it, “It’s a true photo, cry us a River,” alluding the altercation that took place between Perry and Punk during AEW All In 2023.
McIntyre was questioned about the photo when he appeared on The Gorilla Position in advance of Bash Berlin.
“On the same flight.” McIntyre replied, “He was right in front me.” “I spoke to him, lovely lad. His girlfriend is really nice. I was flying to LA when I said, “Hey, let’s take a photo together, we are both wrestlers.” I’ll post it on the Internet, and give you a little rubbing. ‘”
“And people reacted insanely,” he continued.
McIntyre will face Punk in a strap-match on today’s show. Perry’s next match appears to be a AEW World title bout against Bryan Danielson at All Out in Chicago.
