Minoru Suzuki, the legendary Japanese wrestler, is now a MLW champion.
Suzuki and his Contra Unit partner Ikuro kwon won the MLW Tag Team Titles at Summer of the Beasts on Thursday night in New York City. Satoshi Kojima & Okumura were defeated by Suzuki & Kwon. Suzuki pinned Okumura after Kwon blinded him with mist.
Mads Krugger, Janai Kai and Suzuki of Contra Unit joined Kwon and Suzuki to lay out Kojima from a post-match angle. Krugger will face Kojima next month for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship at Fightland.
Kai is also the Women’s Featherweight champion at MLW.
Suzuki has been appearing regularly for MLW since his debut in October 2023. He is currently a freelancer working in Japan and the United States.
Donovan Dijak, a former WWE wrestler, made his MLW debut at Summer of the Beasts. He promised to bring destruction and devastation. He named Kojima Suzuki Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher among his targets and vowed that he would become the next MLW Heavyweight Champion.
